Moo Cow Games makes adventures for families, so protecting the privacy of children and parents is not an afterthought. This policy explains, in plain language, what we collect, why, and the choices you have.
This Privacy Policy applies to the websites, applications, and games offered by Moo Cow Games LLC (“Moo Cow Games,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), including Song of the Whispering Reach and future family adventures (together, the “Services”).
A note on our stage. Our Services are in active development. Some features described on our site are planned and not yet available. This policy reflects how we intend to operate at launch; we will update it, and the “Last updated” date above, as the Services change.
Information we collect
We aim to collect as little as possible. Depending on how you use the Services, this may include:
- Information you give us. If you contact us, sign up for updates, or create an account, we may receive your name and email address.
- Gameplay content. Characters, choices, and story progress you create while playing. Where possible, this is stored on your own device.
- Basic technical information. Standard device and usage data (such as browser type, general region, and error logs) that helps us keep the Services working.
How we use information
- To provide, maintain, and improve the Services.
- To respond to your questions and support requests.
- To send updates you have asked to receive (you can opt out at any time).
- To keep the Services safe, secure, and working as intended.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use children's information to target advertising.
Children's privacy
Our adventures are meant to be played by parents and children together. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 without a parent's involvement and consent, in keeping with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
Accounts and any settings that involve personal information are created and managed by a parent or guardian. If you believe a child has provided us personal information without a parent's consent, please contact us using the details below and we will delete it promptly.
How information is shared
We share personal information only in limited ways:
- With trusted service providers who help us operate the Services (for example, hosting), under agreements that protect your information.
- When required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of our users and Moo Cow Games.
- As part of a business transfer (such as a merger or acquisition), in which case we will notify you.
Your choices
- You can unsubscribe from update emails at any time.
- You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we hold about you or your child.
- You can clear locally stored gameplay content from your device at any time.
Data retention & security
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described here, then delete or de-identify it. We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, though no method of storage or transmission is ever completely secure.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date, and, for significant changes, provide a more prominent notice.
