Moo Cow Games began at our own kitchen table, with two parents who wanted their kids to beg to play something that was quietly good for them.

Dr. Emily Zehrer, MD
Clinical Design & Co-Writer
Board-certified child and adolescent psychiatrist. In her clinical work, she saw that children process big feelings and build resilience far more readily through lived, imaginative play than through worksheets. She co-writes the adventures with her husband, shapes the developmental thinking behind the design, and keeps the play honest.

Mike Zehrer
Design, Code, Art & Co-Writer
Co-writes the adventures, designs the game systems, builds the technology and the app, and illustrates the world of the Whispering Reach. Together with Emily, he set out to turn principles they trust into an adventure their own children would beg to play, with zero prep and no rulebook to study first.
Mac
Chief Play Officer
The family's bernedoodle puppy, affectionately known as Mackey Moo Cow, and the reason we are Moo Cow Games. Master of three signature moves—stomp, chomp, and double STOMP—he keeps his human siblings, two elderly dogs, and two cats on their toes and everyone happily worn out.
Made at a Kitchen Table
Moo Cow Games is an independent family studio. Everything we make starts from a single question: what would our own children ask to play again tomorrow? We set out to turn principles we trust into something genuinely fun first, with a great deal of thought built in underneath.
A Growing Library
We are building Moo Cow Games as a growing library of tabletop adventures. As your family grows, you can keep choosing new stories, themes, and developmental focus areas to explore together side by side.
